Wyatt Davis, 18, passed away in 2022 after a battle with osteosarcoma, an agressive bone cancer. Wyatt was an avid sports fan, athlete, man of faith, and a role-model for many.  To honor Wyatt's memory we are holding a 3v3 soccer tournament in his name.  Proceeds will go to support Continental Athletics and the Wyatt Davis Memorial scholarship fund.

ruleS

Roster:
Every team has to register a roster with all the player names and their Date of Birth.

Number of players per team:

A team can roster a maximum of 6 players – three field players and three substitutes. Teams are allowed to roster less than six players if they choose (A team must have a minimum of 2 field players). Players may only play on one team per age group.

Tournament Equipment:

All players must wear shin guards. Any player without shin guards will not be allowed to play. There will be NO exceptions. Cleats with metal spikes will NOT be allowed.

Duration of the Game:

20 Minute Games with 10 Minutes in between the next Games

Game Clock Format – Games will start Promptly every 30 Minutes

The game shall consist of one 20-minute game. A coin toss will determine direction and possession before the start of the game. The team winning the coin toss will choose which goal to defend and the other team will kick. After the game there will be 5-minute break for teams to make it to their next game.

Be Field Aware

If a team is not present five (5) minutes after the scheduled game time, a 3-0 forfeit win will be recorded for the opposing team. Teams are responsible for waiting until the seed for playoffs has been determined.

No timeouts in 3v3 soccer.

Substitutions:

Substitution: Substitutions can be made on the fly.

Ties:

Games tied after regulation play are final, the team that scored last will be determined the Winner.

If the Game score is 0-0 then a coin flip will determine the winner.

(With Exception of the Championship Game)

In the Championship game there will be a 3-minute Overtime with “Golden Goal” wins.

If still tied after 3-minutes, then the last team to score is deemed the winner.

Seeding Tie-Breakers

  1. The winner in head to head competition. (If there is a 3 team tie, proceed to the next tie breaker)
  2. Goal differential
  3. Most Goals scored
  4. Fewest goals against
  5. Most total wins

Kick Offs / Kick Ins / Direct and Indirect Kicks / Goal Kicks / Penalty Kicks:

Kick Offs

May be kicked in any direction. You cannot score directly from a kick off. The kick off is an indirect kick.

Kick-ins

The ball shall be kicked into play from the sideline, rather than thrown in. The ball is considered in play when the ball is touched and changes position. This is an indirect kick, and a goal cannot be scored from this kick.

Direct and in-direct kicks

All dead-ball kicks (kick-ins, kick-offs, free kicks) are indirect with the exception of penalty kicks. It is the referee’s discretion where the ball will be placed.

Goal kicks

May be taken from any point of the goal arc. All Goal Kicks are indirect kicks.

Penalty kicks

Shall be awarded if, in the referee’s opinion, a scoring opportunity was nullified by an infraction (the infraction does not automatically result in a red card). Penalty kicks are DIRECT kicks taken from the center of the midline with all players (on both teams) behind the midline. Penalty kicks are dead ball infractions. If a goal is not scored, the defense obtains possession with a goal kick.

Five-Yard Rule

In all dead-ball situations, defending players must stand at least five yards away from the ball. If the defensive player’s goal is closer than five yards, the ball shall be played five yards from the goal box in line with the direction of play prior to the penalty.

Goal Scoring:

The Goal Arc

The goal arc is located in front of each goal. If a defending player makes contact with the ball in the goal arc, a goal is awarded to the attacking team. If an attacking player makes contact with the ball in the goal arc, the ball is awarded to the defending team as a goal kick. Players may pass through the goal arc as long as they don't make contact with the ball. If the ball comes to rest in the goal arc, a goal kick is awarded, regardless of who touched the ball last.

Any part of the ball on the line is considered in the goal box and is an extension of such. Once the ball has broken the plane of the goal box, if the ball is touched by the defensive team, a goal will be awarded. If the offensive player touches after the ball has broken the plane, a goal kick will be awarded.

The referee’s judgment call and ruling on the field will not be overturned.

A goal may only be scored from a touch (offensive or defensive) within the team’s offensive half on the field. The ball must be completely on the offensive half of the field, and cannot be touching the midline. If a player in their defensive half kicks the ball across the midline and the ball hits another player (offensive or defensive) in their offensive half, and the ball goes in the goal, a goal will be awarded. If a ball is kicked from the defensive half and is not touched before the ball rests in the goal, a goal kick is awarded to the defensive team. A goal cannot be scored from an indirect kick, such as a kick-in from out-of-bounds.

Goal Keepers / Off-sides / Slide Tackling / Hand Ball Clarification:

There are no Goalkeepers in 3v3 Soccer, we don’t play with offside and no slide tackling is allowed. If a player slide tackles with or without contact into another player, the result will be an indirect kick.

Hand Ball Clarification

Deliberate handling of the ball that denies a team an obvious goal-scoring opportunity will result in the following: (1) A penalty kick (at the discretion of the referee) (2) A yellow or red card given to the player committing the hand ball (at the discretion of the referee).
